Blistering Records is proud to announce the signing of Swedish hard rockers THE POODLES for the European territory.

Founded in late 2005 things moved rapidly for The Poodles with the band entering the Swedish leg of the Eurovision Song Contest which led to the big breakthrough in their native country.

The debut album "Metal Will Stand Tall", climbed to the top of the Swedish charts. The first single "Night of Passion", went gold after only three weeks and platinum not long after. The band played over 100 shows in Sweden before heading out on a European tour with HAMMERFALL and KROKUS that took them through 31 dates and 18 countries.



The sophomore album "Sweet Trade" was released in late 2007 with the second single "Streets of Fire" becoming the band's biggest seller to date by going double platinum.

Shortly after The Poodles headed out on yet another tour around Europe, this time with Swiss hard rockers GOTTHARD. This was followed by their own headline tour in the spring of 2008 with 17 sold-out shows throughout Europe. 2008 also saw The Poodles participate a second time in the Swedish Eurovision Song Contest plus getting the honor of performing the official Swedish theme song for the Olympic Games in Beijing, China.

On "Clash of the Elements" the band has worked with some of the giants in the music industry - including legendary producer/engineer Mike Fraser (Aerosmith, AC/DC, Led Zeppelin, Whitesnake). The band is currently on a tour that will take them all over Sweden until the end of August with a full-scale European tour to follow later in the year. The album will be released in Europe on August 28th by BLISTERING RECORDS with promotional preparations already in full spin.

Make no mistake! The Poodles are shooting for the stars with this one!

There's an old saying; "Save the best for last". Just when it seemed the prestigious Sweden Rock festival had completely filled their billing for the 2009 event, they announced one final artist. The icing on the cake is none other than Sweden's own rising stars of the AOR scene, COVERED CALL!

They may have been the last to be added, but they'll be among the first heard by fresh ears on opening day, June 3 at 7:45PM (that's 19:45 by European set times) on the Gibson Stage for a one hour set.

Now fronted by former Candlemass/Therion vocalist Thomas Vikström, the band officially formed in 2006 and signed with Swedish / American label Blistering Records (Lion's Share, Lillian Axe, Bloodbound...) in 2008 and released their global debut, Money Never Sleeps, on January 27, 2009. Already being heralded by the international press as a breath of fresh air in the often predictable modern melodic rock genre, Covered Call have drawn comparisons to everyone from Bon Jovi & Journey to Van Halen & Styx. Yet while such lofty comparisons are indeed an honor, these hard rocking Swedes manage to put a unique spin on the classic, arena-rock style. A stellar production by Fredrik Nordström of world renown Studio Fredman brings the whole package blazing into 2009 with a decidedly modern edge. Blistering Records is thrilled to announce the worldwide signing of Italian based classic rock supergroup, Moonstone Project & their dynamic bluesy new release, Rebel On The Run!

It features the amazing voice of James Christian (House Of Lords) on all but one track. That 11th track happens to be "Closer Than You Think," a soulful original written & performed by the voice of rock himself, Glenn Hughes (Deep Purple/Black Sabbath)!

On the spontaneous creation of the Hughes cut, Moonstone founder/guitarist Matt Filippini recalls:
"Closer Than You Think is a beautiful gift from Glenn. He wrote that magical piece while I was at his house in LA. We were watching TV in his living room & suddenly he ran into his studio, picked up his guitar & 5 minutes later the song was born!"
This vibe of immediate cosmic generation permeates the album, though with 2 years of blood sweat & tears in the production, no detail was left unpolished on this labour of love.

While the predecessor to this release, Hidden In Time has become a re-issued collectible favorite in the neo-classic rock underground that album related more the "Project" part of the group's name, with 10 different singers & 20 musicians collaborating! Rebel On The Run has an intentionally more consistent "band" feel. But fret not, there are still plenty of stunning guest appearances from hard rock royalty Ian Paice (DEEP PURPLE) & Clive Bunker (JETHRO TULL) on drums to legendary Hammond organ maestro, Ken Hensley (Uriah Heep) adding his distinct, wild keyboard flourishes! Lead vocalist James Christian's wife, solo artist Robin Beck also layers many unique backing vocals into the colorful fabric of this warm recording.

The masterminds behind the ambitious operation are guitarist Matt Filippini & his co-writing/producing studio wizard keyboardist, Alessandro Del Vecchio. The music is solidified by the powerful Moonstone bassist Nik Mazzucconi, U.D.O. drummer Francesco Jovino, live drummer, Alex Mori & backing singer Roberto Tiranti (Labyrinth).

This Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania based group redefines many hip genre tags through its unorthodox marriage of lush, delay drenched guitars, intricate world rhythms and unusual instrumentation. Lunging effortlessly from heady Floydian arrangements, crystalline Buckley-esqe anti-pop, and haunting waltzes, the songs within the A Miraculous Container manage such transitions without breaking trance. "Beyond Tomorrow", the new video from ALMAH, the side project of ANGRA members Edu Falaschi (vocals) and Felipe Andreoli (bass), will receive its online premiere via MySpace this Friday night, January 16. The clip was shot in Brazil with well-known Brazilian director Rodrigo Giannetto, who works for MTV Brazil.

"Beyond Tomorrow" comes off ALMAH's sophomore album, "Fragile Equality", which was released last November 18th on Blistering Records.

Swedish melodic heavy metal masters LION'S SHARE will film a video for the song "Judas Must Die" in Stockholm, Sweden with director Josef Doukkali. LION'S SHARE previously worked with Doukkali on the clip for the track "The Edge Of The Razor", from the "Emotional Coma" album. The band's original decision to work with Doukkali was based in part on the fact that his background was not in music video but in narrative film projects, and that his more cinematic approach would give the video a unique look and feel.



"Judas Must Die" comes off LION'S SHARE's sixth album, "Dark Hours", which is scheduled for release in March, 2009 via Blistering Records. The CD was mixed and mastered at Fascination Street in Örebro, Sweden by Jens Bogren, who has previously worked with OPETH, SYMPHONY X, PARADISE LOST, AMON AMARTH etc. The new album features a guest appearance by Michael Romeo of SYMPHONY X.

The band states, "The new songs are simply awesome and everybody that have heard it, think it's our best album to date. The red thread lyric wise on this album is that all songs are about things that happened in the late sixties; a decade known for many good things. However, we're not describing the happy times of the 60's: We give you the Dark Hours. Musically it's more straight forward and faster than ever. The songs are filled with energy and great hooks."

Danish melodic death/thrash band SUBMISSION, have signed a worldwide deal with BLISTERING RECORDS. The band's second album "Code Of Conspiracy" will be released by BLISTERING RECORDS in early 2009. "Code Of Conspiracy" is "a grand tour de force in highly technical, yet still melodic and aggressive death/thrash played by highly skilled and ass kicking musicians - it's clear that SUBMISSION hold no fears towards colleagues such as MESHUGGAH, STRAPPING YOUNG LAD, SOILWORK or TEXTURES whatsoever!"

SUBMISSION's new album marks the debut of new singer Lasse Sivertsen, who replaced Steve Qvist, the man behind the microphone on the band's debut album, "Failure To Perfection" (Listenable Records, 2006).

Commented drummer Morten Løwe Sørensen: "I believe SUBMISSION has its own trademark. Our song structures are not common and there is a huge variety within our songs. The music is kind of technical but still with hit potential. Also, we have a range from very groovy and melodic parts to fast blast beats.
